This play with music features the exceptionally gifted Gospel performer/vocalist Bonita Burney Simmons, who is also the founder of Tried By Fire. New Bern Civic Theatre is proud to partner with Tried By Fire Inc. in order to bring this unique fundraiser event to the stage. Ticket proceeds will benefit Tried By Fire, Inc., the non-profit responsible for establishing My Sister's House, a transitional home here in New Bern for post-incarcerated women. The facility is the first shelter specifically designed for women who have no alternative or safe place to stay upon release from prison or jail in eastern NC. The show is certain to be deeply inspiring to all in attendance, and with April as National Second Chance month it’s a perfect time to give and assure those in need of second chances receive opportunities for a better future.
